John Lennon bought this gorgeous Azzuro blue 330 GT the month he passed his driving test.

The 1965 330GT 2+2 Coupe was also the Beatle’s first car, and as it came up for sale at Bonhams during this year’s Goodwood Festival Of Speed, it smashed its estimated value of £180,000-£220,000 by nearly £140,000.

When Lennon originally bought it, the Ferrari was priced at £6,500. Cars were to become a great passion for Lennon, and unlike today’s stars who change their cars every five minutes, Lennon drove his Ferrari for three years, covering more than 20,000 miles – a true petrolhead!
